Spinning by IsA&Mendi

Spinning (2023) is the name of the latest film creation by the creative duo of Mexican directors Isabel Vaca & Arturo Mendicuti, better known as Isa & Mendi. In their own words “two heads think better than one” and their results do not deny it, quite the contrary, just look at some of their work that they have shared on their Instagram (@isaymendi), they have created visual projects for chef Mónica Patiño, Amazon and even the Mexican Football Federation, among others.

This short film with a duration of 14:30 minutes and written by Mara Vaca, is a project with hints of comedy, but with hints of drama. With an intriguing synopsis, which says: “A spinning bike, a corpse, a plastic penis, many lies and greed watching in the front row”, is how we are invited to enjoy this installment. The film will have its world premiere as part of the official selection of the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival.

The Tribeca Festival, named after a New York neighborhood, was created by producer Jane Rosenthal and actor Robert De Niro in 2002. As part of the festival, the best in the world of cinema, audio narrative, video games and advertising. This year, 8,096 works of all categories were received, 62 were selected, Spinning being one of them. Isa & Mendi’s work competes in the Narrative Shorts category.

This year the festival will take place from June 7 to July 28 in the cosmopolitan city of New York, on days 8, 10 and 17 you can enjoy Spinning at AMC 19th St. East 6.
